Between the 16th and the 19th century, For some two hundred years, The empire streached from the outer of the Indus river basin in the west, Northern Afghanistan in the northwest, and Kashmir in the north, to the highlands of present day Assam and Bangladesh in the east, and the upland of the Deccan Plateau in South India.



 

It is said to be founded in 1526 by Babur, from what is today Uzbekistan, who defeated the sultan of delhi, Ibrahim Lodhi, in the Fist Battle of Panipat taking all the North India.

The Mughal Imperial Structure, ruled by Babur's grandson Akbar, lasted until 1720 shortly after the death of last major emperor Aurangzeb.
